Prayer Concerns

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. ( Psalm 122:6)

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse;  and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.  Genesis 12: 3

Please take a moment to read over these concerns and join us in prayer.....

Send Prayer Requests to: Prayers

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.    Philippians 4: 6-7

March 1,2005

This just in:    MADISON NEEDS PRAYER. SHE IS EXTREMELY ILL, 104 FEVER FOR DAYS AND CAN'T KEEP ANYTHING DOWN,  4 YR OLD TWIN SISTER HAS GOTTEN SICK NOW TOO. BUT NOT AS SERIOUS AND IS STILL AT HOME. HAD TO PUT HER MAMA ON AN ANTI-ANXIETY DRUG.  PRAY, PRAY, PRAY PLEASE

UPDATE:  Madison is still very sick.  She is still in
intensive care on a ventilator.  She has been hospitalized a long time now,
(12 days).  The x-rays of her lungs show no improvement today.  But, they are
no worse either.  Her sister, Lauren, is a little better and her Mom is
better.  Misty, Craig's wife's has her Mother there now and that is helpful
to her.

But our little angel is still very sick.  If you would please contact the
prayer chain for her I would be very grateful.  She is a four year old doll
who was a premature baby and now the Drs. are saying this is an RSV virus,
which tends to attack preemies.  The last year she took monthly injections
for RSV was last year and the pediatrician said that would probably be long
enough.  But, I guess it wasn't.  She is in the hospital in Oklahoma City
and has good specialists attending.  Please pray for her little body to be

strong enough to continue this fight and for the Drs. to be wise.

Jan. 20,2005

Will you pray for my dad, John Williams?  He's been having a really tough time of it for years - physically, emotionally and mentally.  Please take a minute and join with me in this prayer...

O faithful Lord and God, strengthen and protect my dad and guard him from the evil one.  Please restore his health &  heal his wounds that his soul might prosper. Help him attend to your words and incline his ear to your sayings.  Let them not depart from his eyes, help him keep them in the midst of his heart.  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.  In Jesus Name .  Amen

(Taken from Proverbs 4:20-22, III John2, Jeremiah 30:17a)

Jan. 13,2005

SPECIAL REQUEST FROM DBC MEMBER LYLE SHACKELFORD, SERVING AS A CHAPLAIN WITH U.S. ARMY UNIT IN IRAQ:

As a transportation battalion, my unit will be delivering the voting machines and the ballots to villages and cities throughout Iraq during the upcoming elections. (January 30/31) Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents because they do not want the equipment to arrive at the polling stations nor do they want the local Iraqi citizens to have the chance to vote; timely delivery must occur so that the elections occur. Encourage your friends and family members and those within our churches to pray specifically for the electoral process.

Historically, the previous totalitarian regime would not allow individual citizens to vote. Democracy will not be realized in Iraq if intelligent and competent officials are not elected to those strategic leadership positions within the emerging government; freedom will not have an opportunity to ring throughout this country if the voting process fails.

Announce this prayer request to your contacts throughout your churches, neighborhoods, and places of business. Those with leadership roles within the local church post this message in as many newsletters and bulletins as possible. There is unlimited potential for God's presence in this process but if we do not pray then our enemy will prevail (See Ephesians 6:10-17) A prayer vigil prior to the end of the month may be an innovative opportunity for those within your sphere of influence to pray. This is a political battle that needs spiritual intervention. A powerful story about God's intervention in the lives of David's mighty men is recorded in 2 Samuel 23:8-33. David and his warriors were victorious because of God's intervention. We want to overcome those who would stand in the way of freedom. David's mighty men triumphed over incredible odds and stood their ground and were victorious over the enemies of Israel . (Iraqi insurgents' vs God's praying people). They don't stand a chance.

I will pray with my soldiers before they leave on their convoys and move outside our installation gates here at Tallil. My soldiers are at the nerve center of the logistic operation to deliver the voting machines and election ballots. They will be driving to and entering the arena of the enemy! . This is not a game for them it is a historical mission that is extremely dangerous. No voting machines or ballots. No elections. Your prayer support and God's intervention are needed to give democracy a chance in this war torn country. Thank you for reading this e-mail. Please give this e-mail a wide dissemination.
Thank you for your prayer support for me and my family. Stand firm in your battles.

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit."   Ephesians 6: 10-17

Oct. 18, '04 - Church in Atlanta, Georgia

This in from Johnny Williams:

Prayer Requests: The finances of Rescue Atlanta. It's a congregation made up of primarily homeless and inner-city families, so the tithe on Sunday morning is not usually very big. Right before I got here a garage door broke and it will cost about 2800 dollars to get a new one. Currently one of the vans, the trailers, and a car are trapped inside. Overall the church needs about 10,000 dollars above operating expenses for some unexpected costs that have come up;

This coming Sunday. The Passion of the Christ, the movie by Mel Gibson is being shown this Sunday at Rescue Atlanta in the morning service. Be praying that God will use the movie to touch peoples hearts and bring them to the Cross; Me to find a job. While Rescue Atlanta is letting me stay at the church for exchange of me working here, I still have some bills to pay.

Strengthen their faith and Love in the Lord Jesus Christ , heal the hearts that are broken ,please dear Father.  If it be Your Will Father please heal this precious little boy.  In Jesus name I pray....AMEN"

My name is Gary Hogan. My wife, Cindy, is 32 years old and has just been diagnosed 3 days ago with stage 4 cervical cancer and her chances for survival are very slim.

She was pregnant with our second child and had miscarried recently at 3 months, and now we know why. This is a request for you to forward this e-mail to everyone you know asking for prayer. The more people that pray for her to be healed, the better. Please pray and ask everyone you know to pray for the HEALING of Cindy, removal of all cancer in her body so she may enjoy all that life has to offer, and to continue to be the wonderful mother to our 5 year old son, Michael.

The power of Prayer is unsurpassed I want the whole world to have her in their prayers the next few weeks. God will hear our cry. Please do not be offended by my plea. This is only a
request for your help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and helping with our request for healing.! No words can express the power we have when we each do a little to come together.

Regards, Cindy's in-love husband - Gary

...And by His stripes we are healed.  Isaiah 53: 5b

REEMA SHARMA  sent in this very moving prayer.  Please join in as she prays :

"DEAR LORD JESUS, I thank you for delivering me and my husband from this long wait for my husband's Work Visa to Kuwait.  Lord, please continue to shower your blessings upon us and help us in our smooth relocation to Kuwait."

"Lord Jesus,  Please help me to find a respectable job in Kuwait as I want to help my husband in his finances and to plan a good future for our daughter, Saachi."

"Lord Jesus, please continue to give us good health as I am feeling much better now and only at times do I get these hot flashes.  Please restore my health Lord."

"Lord Jesus, please fulfill my dream of starting a prayer group for all my sisters in Kuwait who are in distress and don't know where to go.  THANK YOU SWEET JESUS"

Further Prayer Father, Your Word says "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

We agree with Rheema as she asks for a smooth transition to Kuwait.  Also that you will bless her with good health, provide her with a  job, and open the doors for her to start a women's prayer group in Kuwait.  All for Your Glory.

Deborah W. writes in asking us to join her in prayer for her ailing mother:

"Will you please remember my mother in your prayers? She is having trouble with her heart. She will be 81 in Aug., and the Dr. thinks the best thing for her is to keep her in as little stress as we can. I was up to be with her last Wed. and stayed over the weekend. Mom didn’t look good at that time, and said she was ready to go be with my dad in heaven."

PRAYER:

Father, Your Word says "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."  (Isaiah 45:4)

We stand on your promises and ask in Jesus name that you sustain, carry and rescue Deborah's mother.  We also ask that you give Debbie and her family the peace that passes all understanding and the grace to walk even closer to you during this time.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
