After being my dad's
caregiver for a little over a year,

I was invited to write a short story about my experience. The story
has been included in
the Hugs Bible
Reflections for Women book, written by Mindy Ferguson, to be released this Summer. I'm excited that
the book is expected to be in bookstores by August of 2009.
"Hugs Bible Reflections for Women
is a collection of fifty-two inspiring
and true stories with scripture readings and personal reflection questions
following each story. The original stories come from women from all walks
of life who share their heart in this two-color book that is more than a
collection of stories and more than a daily devotional; it is a tool to
encourage, refresh, and build the faith of Christian women everywhere."
My story, as included in
the book, can't be submitted for publication or printed elsewhere until
after the official release. After that time, I'll put the story on this
site for you to read!

What a blessed day it's been!
God is so good and faithful. Went to Sunday School and church...then
had the most wonderful Thanksgiving meal in the Fellowship Hall.
Went back to the evening service where we sang Christmas Carols and
Mozelle and I helped decorate the tree. "Hanging the greens" I think
they call it
Because the church we had been
attending didn't have anything in place for children & Mozelle was the
ONLY child in the congregation, we had been searching for a new church
home. At 4 yrs. old she's really soaking everything up around her
and we want her to get as grounded in the Word as possible.
So.....Several months ago the Lord
led us to the Baptist church and what a great blessing it has been!
The Pastor is absolutely wonderful.... really preaches the gospel and
leads the Worship Music beautifully. Sunday school is terrific, people are
passionate about walking with Christ, Eddie Willie does a great job of
leading the old Hymns.(and the Sunday school class). Mozelle now
goes to AWANAS, Sunday school, and, after staying for the music in church,
she goes off to children's church.
GROW WHERE YOU'RE PLANTED!!!
Yeppers! It is so
wonderful to know God is in control of our lives if we'll just trust and
obey. James 4:8 says "Draw near to God and he will draw near to
you."
WOW RETREAT:
The Women of the Word retreat
was great. I'm excited they asked me to come back and lead the music
for their retreat again next year.
Linda Rusk did a magnificent
job of organizing this event and everything went incredibly smoothly.
I'm waiting for some pictures and then will give a few more details about
the retreat. Let me just say the Grace Groupies were once
again...heavenly and out of this world!!!! :-) And Karen Wines
did such a beautiful devotional program.....the leaves falling behind her
as she spoke...well, it was an awesome God moment.
GUITAR & VOCAL LESSONS:
Blessings upon blessings!
After a number of requests to start giving guitar and vocal lessons again,
I've found myself getting busier and busier with students.
Funny how what we think our
life is going to look like as we get older, and what it really looks like
are 2 completely different things! But I know the Lord has each of
us where he wants us, and we each have work to do. Almost all
of my students want to do Gospel / Christian music and sing for the Lord.
How awesome is that??
NEW CD:
Yes, I do still plan to do the
praise and worship CD. I have the songs but don't have the time
right now. I would appreciate your prayers that I would find a way
to do this CD.

Concerning the election: Someone forwarded this to me
today ..... I found it very comforting.

The Bible will still have all the answers.
